Chief Executive Officer: Companies House
Salary, £120,000 plus benefits
Cardiff
Companies House is seeking an exceptional Chief Executive to drive the most ambitious reform programme since 1844. The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 has empowered Companies House to play a significant role in the fight against economic crime. This landmark legislation is already reshaping our organisation, but the journey has only begun.

Playing a critical role in the UK economy, Companies House, is making the UK a great place to start and run a business. As an executive agency of the Department of Business and Trade, the data on their registers informs business decisions, combats economic crime, drives corporate transparency and supports growth. Companies House handled over 1.5 million incorporations and dissolutions last financial year and the value of the register to UK businesses has been estimated to be up to £3bn annually.
We are looking for someone with the experience of leading and delivering genuinely transformational change; someone who can reach out and build new partnerships in the public and private sector; someone who can support and challenge the organisation as it seeks to deliver this change; and someone who can ensure throughout this change that Companies House continues to provide excellent service to the 5 million companies on the register.

The successful candidate will be someone with direct and extensive experience in guiding an organisation through a period of significant change, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence, and ultimately helping Companies House to achieve its mission.

Your personal qualities will be just as important as your professional background, as having the ability to drive a positive, inclusive and authentic organisational culture is critical. You will need to take people – both within the organisation and across its wide network of stakeholders - with you by being committed to inspiring and empowering people at all levels.

Companies House is a rewarding organisation to work for with many benefits that can be found on our microsite: www.hays.com/jobs/companieshouse
Companies House is committed to inclusive and diverse leadership, and welcomes applications from under-represented groups and those based across the whole of the UK.
