A leading construction company is seeking to recruit a Construction / Estimating Administrator to work within their open office team. This company is searching for a confident communicator who is professional, able to work well under pressure and contribute positively within a small team. This role is office-based in Accrington, Lancashire, offering tailored working hours and career progression, along with other great benefits. Standard working hours are Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 5pm with a 1-hour lunch break. There can be some flexibility around this if required for the right candidate.

Your new role

  • As Construction / Estimating Administrator, you will be expected to support the wider office team, answering calls and dealing with queries, emailing, filling, updating spreadsheets, dealing with contracts and important documentation.

  • Assisting the estimating team with general administration and assisting senior management when and if required. You will be expected to work closely with colleagues, offering help and support with all administrative tasks.

  • Collation and input of incoming tender package documents onto the system.

  • Maintenance of the various pre-construction spreadsheets.

  • Sending out and chasing up subcontractor packages in a timely manner to ensure deadlines were met.

  • Drafting full tender letters, tender packs and bids.

  • Working alongside estimators and the pre-construction director to support all aspects of the tender process.
  • Printing and plotting construction drawings and completing take-offs for estimators.
  • General administration for the Preconstruction and Small Works Departments.
  • Overseeing the development of marketing literature to send to potential clients.
  • Use of Trimble software to enter subcontractors’ prices.

    What you'll need to succeed
    In order to be successful in securing this position, you must have:
  • Excellent verbal/ written communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Friendly tone over the phone with clients and customers, and overall, have a good team work ethic.

  • You must have the ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time effectively and a good understanding of technical and IT skills, particularly when it comes to database management and spreadsheets, whilst also possessing an eye for attention to detail.

  • Please note, previous experience within a construction based role is essential.
