Your new company

You will be working for a UK-leading chemical manufacturing organisation. They are seeking a Deputy Operations Manager to manage the supply chain from receipt of raw materials to finished goods in a safe and effective manner.

Your new role

As a Deputy Operations Manager, you will ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental standards are upheld, conduct audits, and manage preventative maintenance. You will address quality issues, liaise with the Planning Manager to meet production targets, and maintain housekeeping standards. Managing personnel, including training and coaching, setting performance standards, and handling disciplinary procedures, is key. You will oversee forklift operations, ensure safe off-loading of bulk tankers, and ensure compliance with legislation and company policies. Building effective relationships, maintaining plant and equipment, and contributing to continuous improvement are also essential. Additionally, you will support staff and undertake self-development activities as needed.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will need a strong understanding of chemical manufacturing as well as Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, along with experience in quality management and continuous improvement practices. Additionally, a proactive approach to problem-solving, a commitment to self-development, and the ability to ensure compliance with company policies and legislation are crucial.

What you'll get in return

For this role you will receive a permanent contract alongside an annual salary of £50,000. There is also a bonus structure based on company performance and profits. This is a position with realistic progression opportunities.

The role is on site Monday to Friday with some flexible working depending on requirements.
