Document Controller Opportunity - Canning Town (Construction Contractor)

Your new company

We are working with a close client, operating within the Highways Industry, specialising within the highway maintenance niche, with a focus on the A13 road network, ensuring that the ongoing reinstatement/streetworks/maintenance of this network is carried out to the exacting standards of local authorities and key stakeholders. Our client is a subsidiary of a major European civil contractor, however, their depot in Canning Town has a family-run feel to it, and the office/ops management team are incredibly supporting working collaboratively between internal teams.
We have a more detailed description of the role below, but in brief, the role is to fulfil the role of Document Controller who will establish and maintain a centre of excellence for administrative processes around service and works delivery.


Your new role

The day-to-day tasks of the role are as follows:

  • Provide support to Roads and Tunnels Teams in works delivery as and when required
  • Attend projects or subcontractor meetings and record, file and circulate Meeting Minutes as required
  • Communicate and liaise with supply chain/monitor supply chain performance when required
  • Provide support to monitor project performance and facilitate continuous improvement when required
  • Prepare incident and accident (Section 14) report on a monthly basis
  • Establish and own commercial and operational trackers
  • Update the weekly works programme for TfL on daily basis
  • Manage Abnormal Loads mailbox with 3 days response turnaround
  • Raise and close down road space permits for all client works on weekly basis


What you'll need to succeed

While there are desirable qualifications that we are looking for, such as a degree at post grad level and working knowledge of civil engineering or commercial management, in reality the major prerequisites are simply as follows:
- Prior Experience of Administration/Document & Information Controlling within a Construction setting
- Highly competent on Outlook/Excel/Word and the rest of the Microsoft suite
- Good attention to detail, which is paired with a keen attitude towards work, focusing on problem-solving.
