An Early Years Teaching Assistant is needed to work in the Two's room of a Wolverhampton nursery school.
Your new school
A truly inclusive and happy nursery school, located in the North-East of the city of Wolverhampton. The nursery offers up to 30 Two's places for children a term after their 2nd birthday, up to 90 nursery places to children a term after their 3rd birthday, as well as 30 hour places and a SEND resource base within the school, for 10 children. They are committed to providing a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment for their youngest learners and their nursery school is a place where children can explore, learn, and grow.
Your new role
Working in the Two's room, you will cover a sickness absence on a full-time, long-term basis, joining the team to:
- Assist in planning and delivering age-appropriate activities and lessons.
- Support the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children aged 2.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Help with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and toileting.
- Observe and document children's progress, sharing insights with the lead teacher and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Engage with parents and caregivers to provide updates and support.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a nursery or early years setting.
- A relevant qualification in early childhood education or childcare is desirable.
- Strong understanding of child development and best practices in early years education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
