Hays Education West Yorkshire division are looking to appoint an Early Years Teaching Assistant for a Primary school in the Wakefield area.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a nursery early years (EYFS) class on a full-time basis until the end of the academic year. This role will be full-time, and is best suited to a level 3 qualified teaching assistant who will be able to commit to the role until the end of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent support to early years children within the classroom
- Engaging the children with educational activities and managing transitions
- Monitor and support the children’s safety, assisting with self-care tasks
- Set up a range of engaging activities around the EYFS framework
- Promote the use of Read Write Inc phonics scheme, supported by the class teacher
- Experience working with children in EYFS
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours in a calm and effective manner.
- Commitment to providing consistent and reliable support.
- Relevant qualifications in education or childcare, or referenceable experience within the last two years.
- Experience delivering phonics support
