Family Project Worker Vacancy - Full-time - Birmingham

Your new company

Due to their partnership, Hays are working on behalf of Birmingham Children's Trust in recruiting for an Edge of Care Project Worker. The purpose of BCT is to make a positive difference for children, young people and families in the city, by driving up the quality of practice and partnerships across the city and its services.

Your new role

This role is a full-time, long-term position where you will be working with young people and their families whereby the young person is at risk of being placed into care. You will be providing a flexible crisis response service to young people and their parents or carers in a manner which would promote and safeguard the development of the child/young person. The maximum case load you will have at any given time is 6 families.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least 2 years' experience of working with children and young people and their families. You will be working closely with both the family, colleagues and external agencies, so the ability to work collaboratively is essential. As you will be managing a caseload of families, you will need to be able to manage your time effectively and be able to prioritise tasks. Whilst this role is predominantly Monday-Friday, there may be some occasional requirements to work outside these hours, so flexibility is required.

What you'll get in return

You will be paid a competitive hourly rate and have a guaranteed long-term, with further opportunities for permanent positions. As a Hays contractor, you will have a dedicated consultant who will support you throughout the recruitment process as well as whilst you are at work. You will be given access to our training platform, where you can assign yourself to free online training to enhance your own skills.
