We are currently seeking to appoint an electrical-biased candidate for an exciting role based in Nottingham for a busy electrical support team. The ideal candidate will be a time-served electrician or service engineer who is looking to move into an office-based role in a busy support team.
Their business is to support clients who own Data Centres by monitoring the thermal environment and power usage, promoting efficiency whilst maintaining compliance.
This global company is a market leader in the manufacture and distribution of data centre software, which monitors all elements of power to generate PUE reporting.
Mainly office-based, with some site visits and flexibility to work from home when needed.

The role:
In this role you will be the electrical expert within the support team dealing with customer queries on electrical aspects of the data centre software issues.
You will need to understand single-line schematics which are received from the clients and, once trained, transfer the schematics to the company's own platform.

You will be expected to populate the platform room graphics and site view schematics based on site survey information and build software site schematics based on customer drawings.
On occasions, you may be asked to complete site surveys of customer sites to capture technical room layouts and power system capacities and drive forward power-related functionality of current and future software products.
What you need to succeed:
To be successful in this role, you will either hold City and Guilds qualifications, 16th edition - 18th edition electrical qualifications, JIB certification or be a time-serving electrician looking for a more office-based position.
You will need essential skills and knowledge or a working understanding of:
LV switchgear, Generators, DC/UPS power systems, LV electrical distribution systems, electrical meters, electrical distribution systems, circuit breakers and switch boards.Practical knowledge of installation/commissioning of retrofit energy meters and associated hardware is ideal but by no means essential as training will be given. Ideally, you will have an understanding of data centre power and distribution systems and SaaS industry and platforms, but this is not essential.
