About the Role:
Hays Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our team on a supply basis, working at a Special Educational Needs and Mental Health (SEMH) school in Tyne and Wear. This role involves teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 students, providing high-quality education and support to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and development.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Understanding of SEMH and experience working in a similar setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
