Your new company

Seeking a Finance Assistant to join a travel company located near Witney. The purpose of this role is to deliver faultless accuracy on income and outgoing payments related to customer bookings and supplier invoices, preparation of all related accounting information and ad-hoc financial requests.

This is a great opportunity for candidates looking to gain transactional experience alongside completing their AAT/CIMA/ACCA Studies. Study support will be provided and the opportunity to develop further and gain month-end exposure is available.

Your new role

  • Day-to-day management of all payments including: processing operator invoices, ensuring all invoices are correct to the original booking agreements, creating commission invoices where required.
  • Compile and process weekly payment run to suppliers/refunds to clients/ general bill payments/agent commission invoices.
  • Sending payment advice emails to all suppliers/operators on completion of payment run.
  • Day-to-day management of bank accounts (various currencies), including processing any outgoing payments promptly, and dealing with any queries.
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts on a weekly basis
  • Reconciliation of credit card statements, processing of expenses.
  • General management of all active bookings on Xero, having a good overview of the financial status of each booking from the details held within Salesforce and Xero.
  • Credit control for all bookings, sending balance reminders, chasing when overdue.
  • Security Deposit management
  • Assisting Sales consultants and directors when required to deal with any queries
  • Assisting Management Accountant with ad hoc tasks as required

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience in a similar role is preferable.
  • AAT studier would be desirable – or a strong knowledge of debits/credits.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to and learn new systems and procedures
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office 365 (particularly Outlook and Excel) and Xero is preferred.
  • Previous experience using SalesForce would be useful, but not essential.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and have a friendly, approachable and professional manner.
  • Excellent communication skills with a willingness to go that extra mile.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Attention to detail
