Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Year-End Financial Accountant to join our client's finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing the collection packs from Arm's Length Bodies (ALBs) and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting at the year-end. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our financial statements and supporting the overall financial health of the department.
We are seeking an experienced Year-End Financial Accountant to join our client's finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing the collection packs from Arm's Length Bodies (ALBs) and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting at the year-end. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our financial statements and supporting the overall financial health of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyse year-end financial collection packs submitted by ALBs.
- Ensure compliance with government accounting standards and regulations.
- Prepare and consolidate financial statements for year-end reporting.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data.
- Collaborate with ALBs to provide guidance and support on financial reporting requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
- Monitor and report on key financial metrics and performance indicators.
- Support the finance team in other accounting and financial management tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within the public sector.
- Strong understanding of government accounting standards and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
