Your new role
- Contributing to the management of capital expenditure accounting across international stores by collaborating with Commercial, Construction, and IT teams to enhance processes for tracking and capturing capital projects within board-approved budgets.
- Assisting the International Finance team to ensure the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss statements for each international location are accurately controlled and reconciled monthly, with a focus on fixed assets.
- Supporting the preparation of budget forecasts for capital expenditure and depreciation charges, ensuring accurate projections for the Cash Flow and Balance Sheets of international subsidiaries.
- Aiding the Financial Accountant during the year-end audit process and assisting in the creation of year-end statutory accounts and associated supporting schedules.
- Facilitating the improvement and documentation of finance-related processes.
What you'll need to succeed
- Seeking a candidate with experience in fixed assets within a finance setting, who is either pursuing or already partially qualified as an accountant. While experience in the retail industry would be advantageous, a strong interest in International Retail is essential.
- Must possess excellent analytical skills and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, X-Lookups, and Sum Ifs
- A sharp eye for detail and accuracy is required to ensure financial data is recorded and presented clearly and logically for various audiences.
- Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to effectively engage, influence, and collaborate with both financial and non-financial managers.
- Exceptional planning and organisational abilities are crucial, enabling the candidate to prioritise a diverse range of tasks effectively.
- Capable of comprehending and articulating complex matters with clarity.
