Finance Business Partner & Reporting Manager | Sheffield | Hybrid Working

Your new company

This is a newly created role within an established finance function of a large organisation based in Sheffield. The Financial Controller is responsible for ensuring all general and cost accounting activities are performed in accordance with regional accounting principles; internal controls are properly established and being actively monitored; and financial reporting is complete, accurate and timely. They will ensure the oversight of controlling cost, accounting, record keeping in the other business functions and ensure financial controls are adequate to safeguard from loss or other impropriety in inventory record keeping and labour/overhead usage. The Financial Controller participates in the organisation's management committee.

Your new role

  • Provide guidance and support to the management staff as well as other functional activities performed across the business to ensure transaction processing, labour costing and overheads are understood.
  • Deliver first-level support for the business operations team for all finance and accounting questions.
  • Provide bridges and explanations to Division Controller for snapshot and forecast, with analysis of the results vs budget, forecast and last year.
  • Prepare the financial reporting and provide information for the consolidation of the services by Division.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Operations, they provide the monthly operational report and review KPIs to ensure good control of the operations.
  • Elaborate on the monthly / quarterly snapshot forecast or ad-hoc forecast in collaboration with the Director of Operations to ensure an accurate revenue / EBITDA.
  • Elaborate on the monthly closing tasks, supervise accounting entries (mainly managed by global business services) and make sure they are properly entered and balanced.
  • Perform analysis of the expenses versus projection and budget and propose corrective actions to managers.
  • Prepare monthly FISL / posting in SAP and perform load in BPC.
  • Prepare monthly schedules in accordance with company deadlines and policies.
  • Lead the annual 5-year plan revision as well as the site revenue and cost centre budget process.
  • Collaborate, review and challenge numbers with BDM and cost centre managers to create the total site budget.
  • Create site-specific deadlines to ensure regional timelines are achieved.
  • Ensuring ongoing control over company assets is achieved by establishing a culture and environment where all functional departments (finance, sales, IT, customer service, etc.) provide strict adherence to company standards of Internal Control.
  • Be responsible for ensuring accounting and reporting is complete, accurate and timely (including month-end close accounting).
  • Maintain adequate reporting for key SOX controls.
  • Provide support for internal and external audit requests.
  • Continual support of developing management reporting efficiencies.
  • Train and delegate other resources to ensure accurate electronic transaction processing occurs in SAP and other software packages (materials requirement, quality, etc.).

What you'll need to succeed

  • Professional Qualified Accountant e.g. ACCA/ACA/CIMA or Demonstrate exceptional experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive experience consists of accounting and/or financial analysis experience.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience of using SAP accounting software
  • Microsoft Excel, Power BI knowledge – highly beneficial
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills and able to partner with key operations management on a daily basis.
  • Highly motivated person who is willing to learn and be challenged by learning
  • Proactive and organised approach and proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
