Salary: Competitive day rate

The Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Food Technology Teacher to join our team. This role involves inspiring students to explore the world of food, nutrition, and culinary arts, and equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed for their future endeavours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and practical lessons in Food Technology.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets educational standards and encourages creativity in food preparation and presentation.
  • Teach students about nutrition, healthy eating habits, food safety, and culinary skills.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, fostering a love for cooking and an understanding of the importance of nutrition.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting achievable goals.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and hygienic learning environment, ensuring all equipment and materials are used appropriately.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification and experience in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for food technology and nutrition.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest educational trends and technologies.
