Grounds Maintenance - Southampton - Common Cemetery, SO15 7NN - £16.27 Umbrella p/h - 3-month initial contract

Your new company

You will be working for Southampton City Council at the Common Cemetery.

Your new role

You will be doing various outdoor maintenance duties, including grass cutting, hedge cutting, pruning and clearance work around the cemetery.

Key Accountabilities
  1. To undertake a range of horticultural duties including; planting, weeding, basic pruning, turfing and seeding and small scale landscaping.
  2. To undertake general maintenance, labouring, grass cutting, clearing of leaves, litter and the emptying of litter bins.
  3. To use appropriate hand tools, light plant, operate pedestrian and ride on machines in accordance with council policy.
  4. To be responsible for the locking and unlocking of premises and sites, cleaning of chapels, toilets and mess rooms with the reporting of any defects as appropriate.
  5. To carry out minor daily maintenance and cleaning of all plant and equipment reporting of any defects as appropriate.
It is a 37 hour week 8am to 4.30 with an early finish on friday.

What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for someone for an immediate start who has work safety boots and experience of ground maintenance and machinery.

What you'll get in return

£16.27 per hour umbrella
