Head of Communications - 1 year contract

Your new role

You will be joining an organisation in Birmingham on a 1-year contract as a Head of Communications. You will support the Assistant Director of Communications in regard to the overall strategic direction, management and approval of the organisation’s campaign communications, planning, delivery, scheduling and impact analysis whilst ensuring it aligns to the company’s corporate objectives.

You will also manage key projects which raise the profile of the work, corporately, locally, regionally and nationally.

What you'll need to succeed

- Deputise for the Assistant Director, Communications in their absence, ensuring that communications are monitored, evaluated and reported on a regular basis.
- Provide the commitment, skills, knowledge and vision to create and sustain a best-in-class communications team.
- To work with all directorates and service areas to ensure that they are actively engaged and understand the need for strategic communication planning.
- To take overall responsibility for strategic planning, creation, coordination, delivery and evaluation of key corporate communication campaigns (both internal and external) highlighting opportunities and threats.
- To lead and develop an effective internal and external communications framework including coordination and consistency of messages and ensuring that there are clear routes to deliver messages.

What you'll get in return

This role is based in Birmingham but offers hybrid working and weekly pay. The rate will start from £50 per hour, based on experience.
