Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the school's behaviour policy and strategy.
- Support the Headteacher in maintaining high standards of student behaviour and discipline.
- Oversee the pastoral care system, ensuring the well-being of all students.
- Develop and implement initiatives to promote positive behaviour and attendance.
- Staff Development:
- Provide guidance and support to teaching and support staff on behaviour management.
- Deliver training sessions and workshops to enhance staff skills in managing student behaviour.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive environment amongst staff.
- Student Support:
- Work closely with students to understand and address behavioural issues.
- Implement intervention strategies for students with challenging behaviour.
- Promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and resilience amongst students.
- Parental and Community Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers to support student behaviour and well-being.
- Liaise with external agencies and stakeholders to provide comprehensive support for students.
- Organise and participate in school events and activities that promote positive behaviour.
Requirements:
- Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a secondary school.
- A strong track record in managing student behaviour and pastoral care.
- Excellent understanding of current educational policies and practices related to behaviour management.
- Skills and Attributes:
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
