Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and manage the school's behaviour policy and strategy.
    • Support the Headteacher in maintaining high standards of student behaviour and discipline.
    • Oversee the pastoral care system, ensuring the well-being of all students.
    • Develop and implement initiatives to promote positive behaviour and attendance.
  • Staff Development:
    • Provide guidance and support to teaching and support staff on behaviour management.
    • Deliver training sessions and workshops to enhance staff skills in managing student behaviour.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive environment amongst staff.
  • Student Support:
    • Work closely with students to understand and address behavioural issues.
    • Implement intervention strategies for students with challenging behaviour.
    • Promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and resilience amongst students.
  • Parental and Community Engagement:
    • Build strong relationships with parents and carers to support student behaviour and well-being.
    • Liaise with external agencies and stakeholders to provide comprehensive support for students.
    • Organise and participate in school events and activities that promote positive behaviour.

Requirements:
  • Qualifications and Experience:
    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
    • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a secondary school.
    • A strong track record in managing student behaviour and pastoral care.
    • Excellent understanding of current educational policies and practices related to behaviour management.
  • Skills and Attributes:
    • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
