Job Title: Inventory Controller

Reports Into: Finance Controller


The Inventory Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records in SAP, reflecting all stock movements between co-packers and third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses. This includes recording receipts, dispatches, adjustments, and write-offs, as well as reconciling monthly stock reports from 3PLs against SAP records. The role requires a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Stock Movement Recording: Accurately record all stock movements in SAP, including receipts, dispatches, adjustments, and write-offs, ensuring alignment with physical transactions between co-packers and 3PL warehouses.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile end-of-month stock reports from 3PL warehouses against SAP records, identify and investigate discrepancies, and make necessary adjustments in the system.
  • Inventory Adjustments: Process inventory adjustments in SAP as required, ensuring that all changes are documented and authorised.
  • Communication & Coordination: Collaborate with co-packers, 3PL warehouses, and internal teams to resolve inventory discrepancies and ensure timely and accurate stock reporting.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular inventory reports, highlighting key metrics, discrepancies, and any necessary corrective actions.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to inventory management, and support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and improve inventory management processes and controls.

Qualifications and Skills:.
  • Experience with SAP / SAP B1 inventory management modules is essential.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices related to stocks.
  • Ability to handle large amounts of data efficiently. Advanced (no VBA) Excel skills are essential.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high volumes of transactions accurately.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
