IT BUSINESS ANALYST - UP TO £55.80 PER HOUR

We are currently working with a global financial institution to recruit an experienced IT Business Analyst. This position is responsible for acting as a liaison between business users and technologists, ensuring the exchange of information is concise, logical, and understandable. The overall objective is to contribute to the continuous exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define business, financial, and operations requirements using Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies through collaboration with decision-makers, systems owners, and end users.
  • Analyse business processes, identify gaps in capabilities, and determine the necessary data sources, interfaces, and process changes required to address these gaps.
  • Generate and compile reports based on findings, including probable causes and potential solutions to system issues.
  • Provide advice and counsel related to technology or business operations, ensuring essential procedures are followed and contributing to the definition of standards.
  • Assess risk appropriately when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation, clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgement, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • 5–8 years of experience in business analysis or systems analysis, ideally within Financial Services.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
