IT Infrastructure Engineer - Glasgow - £45,000

Role Overview:

I am seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join my clients' small IT team. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make critical technology decisions and guide the business to better serve the clients and end users. Your technical expertise and support background will be invaluable as you oversee and enhance the companies' network setup, manage web applications, and maintain server and storage infrastructure. Responsibilities:

  • Network Management:
    Ensure robust and efficient LANs, WANs, VPNs, and wireless systems.
  • Web Application Deployment:
    Deploy and manage web applications for end users.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance:
    Implement and sustain server and storage infrastructure, virtual environments, and cloud solutions.
  • User Support:
    Assist end-users and IT colleagues with network and system enquiries.
  • Automation:
    Streamline network and system operations through scripting.
  • Monitoring:
    Oversee and refine monitoring software for servers and critical applications.
  • Routine Tasks:
    Perform routine IT operational tasks.

Candidate Profile:

  • Technical Proficiency:
    Extensive knowledge of Microsoft cloud computing, Exchange, Intune, and Entra.
  • Active Directory Management:
    Experience managing Active Directory.
  • Operating Systems:
    Familiarity with Windows Server 2019, Windows 10/11, and VMWare.
  • Networking Skills:
    Understanding of network protocols, routing, switches, and network security.
  • Virtualization:
    Proficiency in VMWare virtualization platform management.
  • Automation:
    Ability to write PowerShell scripts for automation.
  • Hardware Expertise:
    Knowledge of server hardware, architecture, and hyperconverged infrastructure.
  • Patch Management:
    Experience with patch management processes.
