Joiner - 3 month temp - Social Housing

Job Advert: Temporary Joiner (3-Month Position)
Location: Yorkshire Salary: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)
Duration: 3 months (with potential for extension)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

We are currently seeking an experienced Joiner to join a team within the social housing sector for a 3-month temporary position based in Yorkshire. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of maintenance projects, providing essential services to our clients in the housing sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out joinery work for the maintenance and repair of social housing properties.
  • Install and repair doors, windows, locks, skirting boards, architraves, and other woodwork elements.
  • Perform structural repairs and replacement of joinery elements in kitchens, bathrooms, and other areas.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, meeting relevant building regulations and safety standards.
  • Liaise with residents and other team members to ensure minimal disruption during works.
  • Assist in general property maintenance tasks as required.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and safe to use.
  • Follow health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Joiner, ideally within the social housing or maintenance sector.
  • A relevant qualification in Carpentry and Joinery (e.g., City & Guilds or NVQ) is preferred.
  • Full, clean driving licence (may be required to travel between properties).
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to engage with residents and colleagues.
  • Prior experience working within the social housing sector or a similar environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to joinery work.
