Land Development Manager Required for

Your new company

Hays are delighted to be partnering with a leading construction and engineering company in their search for a Land Development Manager.
This client is a top-tier provider of comprehensive engineering, operational, and decarbonisation solutions, specialising in transport projects and complex facilities across their entire life cycle.
With ongoing projects, they are now seeking to expand their team.


Your new role

In your new role, you will be in charge of land liaison and acquisition for ongoing projects.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Manage the acquisition of land and property, by agreement and vesting, to support ACTIVE Travel/ Minor Major works.
  • Attend site meetings with landowners, agents, DFI engineers as required.
  • Liaise with Land and Property Services (LPS) regarding valuations
  • Liaise and prepare documents and information for the Departmental Solicitors Office
  • Ensure lands database is updated in line with procedures
  • Resolve land ownership issues utilising Landwed, Chancery Searches & Statutory charges
  • Manage the disposal of surplus land in accordance with current procedures and policy
  • Process all land-related payments in line with departmental procedures
  • Ensure prompt and accurate preparation of estimates to assist with budget planning; progress compensation payments and agent's/ solicitor fee payments
  • Ensure correspondence and records are processed in line with legislative and departmental procedures
  • Ensure notices are placed in newspapers and departmental website, in line with legislative and departmental procedures.



What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
A degree or equivalent in Planning and Development or another relevant discipline is essential.
Chartership in Surveying is desirable but not essential.
