About the Role:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs? We are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our team and work closely with the SENDCO, teachers, and other staff to support students' learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students following a support programme defined by the SENDCO.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff as part of the teaching team.
  • Support students with learning difficulties using various resources (reading, writing, spelling, computer-based learning).
  • Help students develop alongside their peers through a structured programme.
  • Regularly update the SENDCO on student progress and challenges.
  • Understand and implement teaching strategies for students with ADHD, Autism, Specific Learning Difficulties, and other needs.
  • Support students with additional needs, including sensory impairments or medical conditions (e.g., PE supervision).
  • Assist students with emotional and behavioural difficulties in the classroom.
  • Undertake training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Collate student information for annual reviews.
  • Help set appropriate targets based on EHCPs.
  • Work with outside agencies such as speech therapists and educational psychologists.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required by the Principal.

About You:

  • Experience: Experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable.
  • Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills, patience, and a compassionate approach.
