Your new company

Hays Senior Finance are currently working with an excellent organisation in the Kingswinford area as they look to recruit a new Management Accountant for their small team on a permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a Group which is going through a very exciting and ambitious PE backed growth journey over the next 2-3 years with new acquisitions being made regularly. The business is budgeting c.£30m in revenue for 2024/2025 which is an increase of 50% year-on-year.

Your new role

Reporting directly into the CFO, you will be responsible for owning the month-end process for multiple companies within the Group whilst getting involved in various other projects/commercial activities.

Key duties:

  • Month-end close and reporting for 5+ businesses within the Group
  • Support with the design and implementation of suitable processes and a strong control environment
  • Weekly cashflow reporting and forecasting for the Group
  • Assisting with the integration and reporting of new businesses acquired
  • Developing performance measures and KPIs
  • Working closely with the business to improve information flows and accuracy of MI
  • Key contributor to future/ad hoc projects (e.g. ERP implementation, automation, data migration etc.)

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) - newly qualified or 2-3 years post-qualification experience

  • Strong management accounting/month-end close experience, preferably gained in a large business environment

  • Technically strong with demonstrated knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS accounting standards

  • Good understanding of all relevant tax related matters (corporation tax, VAT etc.)

  • Possess a 'can do' attitude with the confidence to challenge the status quo

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong Excel skills and highly proficient with ERP systems (implementation experience highly desirable)
