Your New Role
Whilst working your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Maintenance and Repair
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues in a timely manner.
- Install and commission new equipment and machinery.
- Ensure all installations comply with safety and operational standards.
- Train and mentor junior technicians in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
- Stay updated with the latest industry practices and technologies.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of equipment condition.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Prepare detailed reports on equipment performance and maintenance needs.
- Program and maintain PLCs and control systems.
- Diagnose and repair issues related to PLCs, robotics, and automation systems.
- Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ensure the efficient operation of these systems within the production environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall production efficiency.
- Respond promptly to equipment failures and emergencies.
- Implement corrective actions to restore normal operations quickly.
What You'll Need To Succeed
In order to be considered for this role, candidates must be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualifications:
• Have served either: A Mechatronic or Electrical apprenticeship in a manufacturing / production setting OR a Mechatronic or Electrical apprenticeship in any setting plus at least 3 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing / production environment.
• Be prepared to work and train in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
While not essential, it would be advantageous that applicants:
Have a minimum of an NVQ 3 in engineering (or equivalent qualification) • Can demonstrate experience and proven ability of maintaining plant and equipment in a high volume
production environment • Have working experience of PLCs, controls, robotics, hydraulics & pneumatics.
What You'll Get In Return
For working an attractive days-only pattern (Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:30 + Friday 08:00 - 14:30) you will earn a salary of up to £35750. There is no regular weekend work unless as OT @ 1.5. The benefits package is inclusive of 5% + 4% pension, DIS £40000, terminal illness pay out, healthshield, sick pay, subsidised canteen, free parking.
