Numeracy Specialist Teaching Assistant
A secondary school in the Wirral is looking to appoint a Qualified Teaching Assistant to support a Year 10 pupil in Numeracy.
This Teaching Assistant job will involve supporting the pupil on a 1:1 basis in all subjects, but in particular in Numeracy, which is a weak subject for them.
For the right qualified TA, this job is full-time, and is a fixed term for 1 year initially, with the possibility of extending if support is still needed next academic year.
You will work closely with the class teacher to adapt lessons to suit the level and learning style of the pupil and agree appropriate learning outcomes for them.
The successful Teaching Assistant will be educated to GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, and hold at least NVQ Level 2 or equivalent certificate in Teaching Assistant.
Specialist skills in supporting Numeracy intervention is essential, as is experience of working with pupils on the P scales, and an ability to plan activities independently using teachers' plans as guidelines.
