Offshore Wind Specialist-Renewable Energy - Part time

Your new company

You will be engaged on a part-time basis with a prestigious Central Government department, contributing to the delivery of critical renewable energy initiatives. This pivotal role directly supports the UK Government's Clean Energy policy, playing a significant part in advancing sustainable energy solutions.


Your new role

  • Develop a detailed understanding of the strengths of the UK supply chain in the specified technologies to assess investment and growth potential.
  • Identify and quantify investment opportunities in these sectors, focusing on growing UK supply chains, and create a targeted investment proposition.
  • Build and maintain a senior network of industry contacts for open discussions about barriers and challenges.
  • Provide commercial and technical input for discussions and policy development of these technologies.
  • Support the Office for Investment, overseas posts, and others in delivering live investment projects as part of virtual teams.
  • Upskill civil servants in your areas of expertise, including understanding existing and potential new business models relevant to the specified technologies.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong technical or commercial background in one or more of the specified technology priorities (onshore wind, solar, tidal stream, tidal barrage, wave), preferably more than one.
  • Good understanding of existing and potential new business models that support the deployment of these technologies, along with the challenges of implementing them.
  • Strong understanding of the UK's existing and potential capabilities in these technologies, with the necessary network and contacts to develop them for all specified technologies.
  • Experience working with C-suite individuals in these sectors, with a strong understanding of their challenges and requirements.

What you'll get in return

You will be working at a competitive daily rate of up to £550. The organisation truly believes in employee wellbeing and is very flexible around your schedule. They are looking for someone to work 102 days from April 1st 2025 to April 1st 2026.
