PHP Developer | Hybrid | Belfast
Key Responsibilities:
- Core Development:
Design, develop, and maintain essential components of custom software tools for coating and inspection management. - Leadership:
Guide and mentor a small team of developers, ensuring high standards of code quality, productivity, and teamwork. - Software Architecture:
Oversee the architecture and continuous evolution of the software platform, ensuring it remains scalable and high-performing. - Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with key stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver effective solutions. - Code Quality:
Perform code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, standards, and guidelines. - Problem Resolution:
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise code for performance and reliability, particularly in critical applications for industries such as nuclear and oil & gas. - Continuous Learning:
Stay current with the latest trends in software development and advocate for new tools and technologies to enhance processes and products.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years in software development, with extensive experience in Java and PHP.
- Demonstrated experience in a B2B or enterprise setting, particularly within sectors like nuclear, oil & gas, marine, subsea, infrastructure, or construction.
- Proficiency in full-stack development, especially backend services and web applications (Apache 2.4, Open Lite Speed Servers, PHP 7.4 to 8.2, MariaDB 10.3, Linux, JavaScript, CSS, TypeScript, Ionic and Angular frameworks, Bash, Java, and Objective C).
- Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) software or similar tools is advantageous.
- Strong grasp of software design patterns, architecture, and scalability.
- Proven leadership skills in mentoring and managing small developer teams.
