Primary PRU Teaching Assistant - Salford

Position: Teaching Assistant (SEN)
Location: Salford Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)
Start Date: ASAP After Easter

The School:
On behalf of a Primary PRU in Salford, Hays Education is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their team. The PRU is dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for children with special educational needs. The PRU is designed to support children who have been excluded from mainstream education or are at risk of exclusion. The PRU focusses on re-engaging students with their education, providing a balanced curriculum similar to mainstream schools, and offering additional support to meet their unique needs.

Role Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our team. As a Teaching Assistant in this PRU, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and emotional development of our students. This is an excellent opportunity for TAs of any level to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering individualised learning programs.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs.
  • Help create a safe and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Support students in developing social and communication skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Key Requirements:
  • Passion for working with children with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
