Your new company is one of the North West's largest manufacturers, who operate across numerous Engineering Sectors, including; Aerospace, Defence, Maritime and Energy. Based in Cheshire, they are specialists in the full life-cycle manufacturing process, seeing engineering through concept, design, production, testing and quality. Through their excellent work within the manufacturing industry, they have achieved numerous industry awards for their contribution to manufacturing.

Your new role

As a Principal Engineer, you will manage the design engineering process within a highly specialised industry. Your expertise will be crucial in advancing product innovation, ensuring products meet safety standards and commercial objectives. The role requires a deep understanding of Mechanical Engineering and an active involvement in developing our junior engineers.

The role will be a fully encompassing role, where no two days are the same. Responsibilities will include; design engineering expertise, planning, coordinating, and supervising major contracts. You will also be identifying and implementing improvements to existing designs, developing and delivering product roadmap changes, and new product developments within their change management process. As a Principal Engineer, you will manage the knowledge management system, contributing to its development and ensuring effective knowledge sharing.


What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will have strong engineering experience, and preferably 5+ years, mechanical engineering experience within aerospace is desired. Experience with system-level integration, finite element analysis, and strong mechanical skills is advantageous. Background and knowledge of materials science and People management/ supervisory experience is also desired in this role.
