Procurement / Category Manager - IT/Indirect Category - Based near Coventry with hybrid working


Your new company

You will be working for a large public sector organisation which is based near to Coventry, within a growing procurement function where there are plenty of opportunities for learning, development and progression.


Your new role

You will be a Category Manager or Procurement Manager with strong indirect procurement experience. You will be managing a portfolio of key IT/Professional Services categories across the organisation. Key to this will be developing and undertaking category strategies to deliver best value contracts and continuous improvement to the organisation. Further to this, you will be working to create robust procurement, regulatory and audit procedures and contributing to the delivery of an efficient, responsive and value-generating procurement service.


What you'll need to succeed

You will understand market dynamics and cost drivers and have experience of undertaking a range of sourcing activities including RFQs, formal tenders and sourcing competitions. You will be a strong negotiator with contract management experience to ensure full end to end delivery and robust supplier management. Internal customer service is a significant part of the role, requiring excellent communication, planning and organisational skills and the ability to foster effective and collaborative relationships across a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
