Your new role
As the Procurement Lead for Works, you will be responsible for leading the procurement strategy for high-profile infrastructure projects. You will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, services, and equipment, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project goals and company objectives.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favourable terms and conditions.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to identify procurement needs and develop specifications.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
- Monitor and report on procurement performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure long-term collaboration and success.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in procurement, preferably within the infrastructure or construction sector.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of procurement best practices and market trends.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CIPS) are highly desirable.
What you'll get in return
This role is a 6-to-12-month assignment, paying between £500 and £600 per day.
