This is a newly created role designed to optimise supplier performance and oversee all contractual and commercial aspects of supplier relationships. • Manage the preparation and execution of subcontracts, both with existing partners and through tendering activities.
  • Ensure contracts are legally sound.
  • Minimise risks during contract negotiations and ensure they are fully understood before agreement.
  • Oversee the contract authorisation process in accordance with competence guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review contracts, ensuring the supplied goods or services meet the agreed terms.
  • Conduct contract reviews with suppliers when necessary.
  • Negotiate terms for direct materials, including warranty and liability terms, as well as stocking/inventory obligations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers across the UK, Europe, and globally.
  • Identify and address commercial and business risks related to your suppliers.
  • Develop and implement the Supplier Management Policy and Due Diligence framework.
  • Secure supply contingency plans based on identified risks.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A strong working knowledge of contracts and contract management

  • Experience of managing and coaching more junior procurement colleagues
  • Excellent stakeholder management and supplier relationship management skills
  • Ideally CIPS qualified, but this is not essential
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ideally, you will be experienced using SAP or other MRP/ERP systems

What you'll get in return
  • Competitive starting salary between £50,000-60,000 depending on relevant experience
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Extra day off for your birthday
  • Death in service
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Early finish on a Friday!
