Your new role
This role is to lead on the service charge accounting for luxury residential buildings in a prime London location. The Property Accountant will be responsible for all residential service charges, engaging with building managers, estate managers and the wider property management team to ensure commitments to high profile residents are met in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
The role will include:
- Assist building managers in preparation of service charge budgets.
- Preparation of Service charge reconciliations.
- Reviewing service charge expenditure and investigating variances.
- Attend monthly and quarterly budget meetings with building mangers.
- Monthly reviews of balance sheet accounts.
- Accounting for PRS (Private Rental Sector) properties, including monitoring performance against KPI’s.
- Liaise with auditors and the financial accounts team as required
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience with and a deep understanding of service charge accounting is essential – experience with large complex residential service charges or estate service charges.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good Excel skills and an ability to work to a high level of accuracy.
- Building effective working relationships across the organisation, particularly senior management, and other departments within Finance.
