Purchasing Manager

Your new company

A leading global supplier of original parts for the automotive industry, with over 40 years’ experience. Your new company, designs, develops and produces flexible suspension components as well as air management and engine cooling systems. Continuously improving its components with technological developments across all product sectors, optimising performance in terms of life cycle, effectiveness, size, weight and environmental compatibility.


Your new role

  • Conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality

  • Run tenders, evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors

  • Negotiate, execute and monitor contractual agreements with key suppliers

  • Keep contract files and use them as reference for the future

  • Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact unsupervised with clients, suppliers & internal stakeholders
  • Keep up to date with trends and innovations, regulations and new technology that can impact the business
  • Provide escalation support to colleagues in procurement to resolve supply issues.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Either a Purchasing or supply chain procurement qualification

  • Proven experience at senior level, preferably in the automotive environment.

  • Proven experience / background in Project Management

  • Computer-literate with good ability in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Good understanding SAP
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels including presentation skills, active listening etc
