QSW – Childrens – Social Worker – Children Looked After

Additionally, the council strives to promote and support the educational needs of every child.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake statutory social work with Looked After children:
Provide support
Assess ongoing and changing needs
Implement interventions to secure welfare

  • Assess the needs of children and their families:
Formulate plans in line with statutory responsibilities and departmental policies

Attend Court hearings and give evidence when necessary

  • Ensure timescales are met for:
Court reports
Panel papers

  • Ensure each child has a detailed Care Plan:
Present to Review in consultation with the team manager

Promote placement stability and permanence for Looked After children

  • Maximise life chances of Looked After children through:
Education
Health care
Leisure opportunities

Follow child protection procedures and processes for Looked After children

You must have a full valid full UK drivers’ licence and a daily access to a car.

Qualifications:

Hold a recognised social work qualification (Degree or equivalent)
Demonstrate relevant training and/or experience.
Possess appropriate SWE registration.
Completion of ASYE
