Widnes, Halton. SEN support across EYFS and Year 1. Long-term contract, immediate start available.

Your new company

Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Widnes-based primary school that is easily accessible via public transport as they require a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support several pupils with SEN across the EYFS and Year 1 classes. This is a long-term full-time contract with an immediate start available.

Your new role

In your new role as a teaching assistant at this school, you will be supporting the EYFS class in the morning and year 1 in the afternoon. Over the morning, you will be supporting two pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis. Both pupils are on EHCP's and have a diagnosis of ASD. They can at times present some challenges within the classroom as they can be disruptive and disengage. To promote their learning with the class, you will be required to effectively manage their triggers by implementing a myriad of behaviour techniques including distraction, disengagement and utilising sensory and fidget toys. Over an afternoon, you will integrate into the year 1 classes, offering general classroom and behaviour management as well as completing interventions and boosters on a 1:1 and small group basis.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK and a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working with children and young people in the last two years, as well as:

  • Experience working with SEN
  • Experience with EYFS and KS1 (key stage 1) aged children (aged 4 - 7)
  • Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract

What you'll get in return

If you are successful in your application, you will receive the full support, dedication, and guidance of a senior DfE accredited recruitment consultant, as well as a wide range of benefits, which include:

  • Free training
  • Company pension
  • Full holiday entitlement
  • Competitive rate of pay
  • Long-term contract
  • Access to exclusive vacancies
  • Refer a Friend scheme
