The organisation is based in easy reach of Edinburgh City Centre and offers flexible / hybrid working. The busy finance team have an opportunity for a financial accountant to join them on a permanent basis. They are looking for a commercially minded candidate to join the team, who can help with process improvement and driving accountability within the team.

Your new role

Within this varied role you will help the team deliver reliable and meaningful management information, is provided to stakeholders across the organisation, help ensure appropriate internal financial controls are in place and are operating effectively, ensure financial transactions are processed accurately and on time, in line with relevant accounting standards and legislation. You will also ensure effective support and advice is provided to key stakeholders.

You will be a qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA) with previous experience in a similar role. You will also have good time management skills to ensure internal and external deadlines are met, a proven ability to work well under pressure and manage a complex workload with competing priorities. You will have an ability to work cooperatively as part of a team but also independently, with minimal supervision using your own initiative and good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels within the organisation and external organisations and respond to complex queries in a clear and comprehensive manner and explain financial issues to non-financial managers. You will have an enthusiastic, enabling, and proactive approach to work, flexible and responsive to changing priorities and have a strong customer focus and high regard for quality service delivery.
