Solicitor/ Legal Advisor (HEI Contracts) Part-Time: Fixed Term Contract

Your new role

As a Commercial Lawyer specialising in HEI Contracts, you will support this university across a wide range of activities. This temporary role, with the potential to become permanent, involves drafting, reviewing, and amending various HEI-specific contracts, including grant agreements, collaboration agreements, IP licences, and more. You will work independently, providing fast yet accurate legal advice while considering the broader operational context. This hybrid role offers flexibility for remote working. This is an initial 3-month contract, with the possibility for it to be extended or made permanent.

What you'll need to succeed

· Degree level legal education (or equivalent) or qualification as a Solicitor or Barrister
· Experience in commercial legal work within the Higher Education Institution (HEI) sector
· Strong up-to-date knowledge across a broad range of HEI-related laws
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Ability to evaluate complex data and provide clear, pragmatic advice
· Resilience and robustness in potentially challenging situations
· Commitment to ongoing legal and professional development
