Your new role

Our client is expanding its team and is currently seeking a Structural Design Engineer for its Belfast office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for e nsuring that works are constructed in accordance with the Employer’s Representative’s requirements, warranting that the contractor carries out all obligations. The Structural Design Engineer will work closely with the principal designer, assist in the production of calculations, drawings, and reports, and attend meetings with architects and contractors. Additionally, the Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and specifying elements for major projects.


What you'll need to succeed

As a Structural Design Engineer, you will need to have a recognised qualification in Structural Engineering or equivalent, with 3-5+ years of structural design experience in the NI/UK & Irish construction market working on buildings and be a member of an appropriate professional institution. It is ideal if you have a master’s degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent or are Chartered or approaching Chartered Engineer status.

You must have strong analytical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles, and experience of undertaking steel and concrete design to NI/UK & Eurocodes, NI/UK & Irish Building Regulations, Codes of Practice, and Technical Standards.

Our client is looking for candidates with strong engineering design experience, particularly in using software such as Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS, SCIA/ROBOT, AutoCAD, and Revit.

In addition to technical skills, it is essential that you have good planning, organisation, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as a ‘can-do’ attitude with a commitment to excellent customer service.
