Your new role
- Providing essential support to adults with learning disabilities such as Autism and ADHD within residential homes.
- Creating a safe and nurturing environment to foster their independence and personal growth.
- Engaging in diverse day-to-day activities tailored to their unique needs and interests.
- Assisting with household tasks like cooking and cleaning.
- Supporting in medication management.
- Building trust and responsibility to accompany them to appointments and activities.
What you'll need to succeed
- Preferred Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a care setting supporting adults with learning disabilities, and at least one year within the UK. Your chances of success and placement with our clients will increase based on your background experience.
- Ideal Qualifications: Qualifications such as an NVQ L3/2 in Health and Social Care or relevant qualifications in supporting adults with learning disabilities are ideal. (Note: Some homes may require or prioritise candidates with specific qualifications, such as NVQ LVL 3. Mandatory training evidence will be requested, and any required modules will be assigned through our online training platform.)
- A manual driving licence, valid in the UK. You will also be required to drive service vehicles from time-to-time on-site to transport residents (not mandatory but will be prioritised over non-drivers)
- Flexibility: We're seeking workers who are as flexible as possible. We understand your individual needs, such as work, education, and family commitments, and will strive to accommodate them. (Note: Flexibility will be prioritised.)
- Resilience: This role can be challenging, so a strong will, perseverance, and patience are essential when dealing with difficult situations. You must be engaged with the residents in activities, including life sessions, shopping, cooking.
- Effective Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary. You'll be responsible for writing in logbooks and potentially preparing reports or editing care plans.
