Sustainability Consultant (Life Cycle Analyst & Circular Economy) - Manchester

The role
This role is responsible for providing sustainable design expertise on whole life embodied in carbon assessments and circular economy statements – both new build, fit out and refurbishment projects for the public and private sector. Working in a multidisciplinary environmental buildings team, you will assist in providing a comprehensive design service to the company’s prestigious clients.

This role is responsible for providing sustainable design expertise on life embodied carbon assessments and circular economy statements – both new build, fit out and refurbishment projects for the public and private sector. Working in a multidisciplinary environmental buildings team, you will assist in providing a comprehensive design service to the company’s prestigious clients.

Key Responsibilities
The following list provides some key responsibilities, but the role is not limited to the list below:

Technical Expertise
  • Undertake Whole Life Carbon (WLC) Calculations for BREEAM Mat 01.
  • Undertake WLC Calculations for GLA referable schemes.
  • Prepare reports for Planning Submissions.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for non-technical team members and clients.
  • Present to the client and design team, to provide design expertise and impact the design regarding WLC.
  • Support calculations for Embodied Carbon, for varying projects including.
Management & Support
  • Support the wider team with project delivery, with the preparing of Green House Gas Reports, Climate Change Adaptation Sustainability statements and Compliance Statements.
  • Support the MEP design consultants, on delivering their design strategy in regard to optioneering, and Whole Life Carbon.
  • Manage your own workload and feed into resource planning.
  • Support management and training of staff at lower grades.
  • Awareness of their financial spending.
  • Undertake QA of other WLC around building energy demand reduction and compliance.
General
  • Produce accurate, professionally written reports and statements with excellent English, clearly communicating your work to clients and stakeholders.
  • Make verbal presentations to clients and stakeholders on the work undertaken.
  • Liaise with design stakeholders and clients to develop a design that is innovative and affordable.
  • Contribute to internal and external design team meetings with the required level of technical understanding to help direct design decisions regarding carbon savings and appropriate roots in Circular Economy.
  • Invests in their individual training and supporting their technical development.
  • Participates in the development of junior staff.
