History Teacher second in command

Job Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced History Teacher to join our team as the 2nd in Command. This role is perfect for a passionate educator looking to take on additional leadership responsibilities while continuing to inspire students in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching:
    Deliver engaging and comprehensive history lessons to students across various grade levels, utilising a range of teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Leadership:
    Assist the Head of the History Department in curriculum planning, development, and implementation. Provide mentorship and support to fellow history teachers.
  • Student Support:
    Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Offer academic guidance and support to students, encouraging critical thinking and a love for history.
  • Extracurricular Activities:
    Lead or support history-related extracurricular activities, such as history clubs, field trips, and special projects.
  • Professional Development:
    Stay current with educational best practices and historical scholarship. Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the continuous improvement of the department.
Qualifications:

  • Education:
    QTS or a relevant discipline.
  • Leadership Skills:
    Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire colleagues and students. Previous leadership experience is a plus.
  • Communication:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and staff.
  • Passion for History:
    Deep knowledge of historical content and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
