Teaching Assistant Job, Primary School in Skelmersdale, Immediate Start

Your new company

Hays has been approached by a primary school in the Skelmersdale area who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to start immediately on a full-time basis until Easter as a minimum. This school provides a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils, regardless of ability or background. We have an excellent relationship with this school and have always had good feedback from staff placed there.

Your new role

In the role as a teaching assistant, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to the class teacher as well as supporting the needs of the pupils, whether that be in a group or 1:1 setting in KS1 or KS2. You will need to provide additional support with phonics, reading, numeracy and literacy. You should possess good behaviour management skills and be able to hit the ground running when being placed in school.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess recent experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting. As the schools are recruiting immediately for this role, it would be ideal if you could jump straight into the role, however, do not let this put you off applying, as we are always receiving new roles. SEN experience would also be desirable in this role, but it is not essential as it will depend on the school you are placed in.

What you'll get in return

In return, you will be paid a highly competitive daily rate and will be working in this successful school where you will become an integral part of a welcoming team of TA's. You will therefore have the opportunity to further develop your own teaching assistant skills and experience.

A dedicated consultant will always be on hand should you have any questions or concerns.
