Technical Accountant | Permanent | Birmingham | £65,000 | Hybrid working

Your new company

Hays are delighted to be working with a public sector organisation based in Birmingham who are looking for an experienced Technical Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your new role

As the Technical Accountant, you will be responsible for undertaking fieldwork to benchmark organisations, to ensure compliance and promote continuous improvement in line with ISQM-1.

Some of the key responsibilities include:
  • Identifying the key areas where regulatory focus is needed
  • Exercise judgement and communicate key findings and concerns to internal and external stakeholders
  • Processing, analysing and synthesising large volumes of information, identifying where engagement with senior team members would be beneficial

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in the position, you will:

  • Be a Qualified Accountant

  • Have a strong understanding or interest in ISQM-1 and 2

  • Have a strong understanding of audit processes and audit quality management

  • Strong analytical and reviewing skills
