1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Hays Education is recruiting passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support our client schools across central and south-east Leeds. This rewarding role involves supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, in dynamic and inclusive school environments.

Your new role

  • Support the emotional, social, and academic development of students.
  • Help create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to the SENCO and Safeguarding Lead.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • A current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
