We are working with a growing manufacturing business in Sheffield. They are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.

Your new role

• Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, including invoicing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records.
• Handle queries related to accounts payable and receivable.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Payment Processing: Record and allocate customer payments to Sage accounts.
• Bank and Cashflow Management: daily bank reconciliations, update the cash flow model
• Monthly Management Accounts: Help with invoice creation, preparation of debtor and creditor lists, VAT returns, and other financial reports.
• Payroll process payroll, manage pension schemes, and handle year-end payroll tasks.
• Year-End Accounts and Audits: Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts.

What you'll need to succeed

AAT certification or equivalent qualification is desirable
Experience with Sage and Excel software
Background in an accounts assistant role, ideally including credit control and payroll duties
Self-motivated and proactive, able to tackle challenges both independently and as part of a team
