    £50,000 - c£55,000 plus package

M&E Quantity Surveyor

HAYS are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated M&E Quantity Surveyor to join an expanding M&E Contractor. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase and will be responsible for the accurate estimating, quoting, and tendering of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Construction:
    • Conduct detailed cost analysis and prepare estimates for M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) works.
    • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive cost plans.
    • Review and assess tender documents, specifications, and drawings.
    • Identify potential risks and opportunities within the project scope.
  • Estimating/Quoting/Tendering:
    • Prepare and submit detailed and competitive quotations and tenders.
    • Analyse and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
    • Ensure all estimates and quotes are in line with project requirements and client expectations.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market rates and trends.
  • General Duties:
    • Monitor and control project costs throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Prepare and present cost reports and financial statements.
    • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
    • Assist in the negotiation and procurement of contracts.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of M&E systems and components.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
