Management Accountant

Job Title: Management Accountant

Location: Swindon, SN5 (Hybrid working: 2 days onsite, 3 days from home)

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

We focus on both commercial and industrial sectors, playing a vital role in addressing global water challenges and advancing sustainable water management practices.

The Role: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our friendly and hardworking Finance team. This role is crucial in managing the financial health of our company and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the month-end close process.
  • Produce monthly management accounts for group companies, reviewed by the Financial Controller.
  • Conduct monthly P&L/Balance sheet reviews with the Financial Controller.
  • Perform monthly foreign bank/supplier/customer revaluations.
  • Oversee daily bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain the General Ledger and Fixed Asset Register, including monthly depreciation.
  • Handle monthly accruals and review prepayments.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns for two companies.
  • Support the annual financial audit with necessary information.
  • Provide daily hands-on support for accounts payable & accounts receivable.
  • Produce and maintain weekly overdue debt reports.
  • Account for inter-company transactions and raise recharge invoices.
  • Educate and support on foreign currency transactions.
  • Complete ONS surveys.
  • Support and develop other finance team members.
  • Contribute to the development and application of finance processes, ensuring a strong financial control environment.
  • Perform other finance ad hoc duties as required.
  • Deputise for the Financial Controller when necessary.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Ideally Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA (QBE considered with 10+ years of experience).
  • Demonstrable experience in preparing management accounts and month-end close processes.
  • Experience working with multiple foreign currencies.
  • Proficiency in balance sheet reconciliations and VAT returns.
  • Strong Excel skills, including Pivot tables and LookUps.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
