Exciting Buyer role in Beds (hybrid) required with experience of public procurement

Buyer - Based in Beds (Hybrid, 2 days in office) up to £42,854

Your new role:
As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in the procurement of various commodities and services, including IT systems, infrastructure, construction projects, and marketing campaigns. You will manage the end-to-end procurement process, from planning and sourcing to contract management and supplier performance. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective procurement and contract management across multiple categories.
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies with a focus on sustainability.
  • Leading evaluation sessions, negotiating with suppliers, and presenting outcomes clearly.
  • Managing the contract database and e-Sourcing tools.
  • Providing advice and guidance on procurement policies and procedures.
  • Researching market data to estimate and negotiate prices and innovations.
What you need to succeed:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a regulated procurement role.
  • CIPS qualification or willingness to work towards it.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Awareness of Public Contract Regulations and competition law.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • The ability to work methodically and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to coordinate multidisciplined teams and deliver projects on time.
